The Environmental Education & Cultural Knowledge Day happens every May and connects elementary students to the environment around them. Tribal programs, federal and state agencies, and local colleges and universities utilize visual and hands-on demonstrations to bridge the gap between Western science and traditional cultural knowledge.

Preparing for Academic Excellence (PACE) is a fun, but challenging two-week math and science camp for Junior High students. Started in 1997 to prepare students for high school algebra, the camp is held the last two weeks of July. In addition to math and science, the students participate in daily field trips. Jet boat tours up the Hell’s Canyon and overnight trips to the Hanford Nuclear Site were highlights each year.

Our annual Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) Fair began in 2006. The fair focuses on connecting junior high and high school students to STEM fields as well as environmental, health, natural resources and cultural subjects.. Participating students and schools join us from Idaho, Oregon, Washington, and Montana on the first Thursday of every December.

The ERWM Intern Program was created to assist enrolled Nez Perce Tribal college students in professional career development by providing scholarships, mentoring, and employment opportunities in math, science, and environmental health.

The Lending Library was developed for students, schools, tribal programs and individual’s to use and check-out resources our program focuses on. The library consists of Hanford related, environmental, cultural, historical, educational, and Native American curricula, books and media. We also provide a list of scholarships and internship opportunities. At one point we also provided tutoring and school counseling.
